Kåre Kvalsund, Managing Partner – Paradigme

Kåre has experience from management and administration as site manager and COO civil at Peab and CEO of Lambertsson AS. Kåre has completed mediation training at CEDR in London and, after passing the exam, is a CEDR Accredited Mediator. CEDR is a world leader in private mediation. He has worked with dispute resolution and problem projects since 2007. Kåre is a construction engineer and has long experience as a site manager, project engineer, operations manager and supervisor at NCC and Peab, as well as district manager at NCC.

Key areas of expertise: Mediation and extrajudicial dispute resolution, documentation and assistance in legal processes, strategic and technical contract management, negotiation strategy, project auditing, construction management, project management, strategy and management, expert assessment and reporting, performance assessments, project finances and accounting.

 

David Price, Partner – HKA

David is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Chartered Arbitrator and Barrister (non-practising) with 40 years’ experience in managing difficult contractual situations on engineering and construction projects around the world. He has worked on disputes on behalf of Scandinavian clients over many years and was instrumental in forming the collaboration with Paradigme AS.

David is experienced in the strategic management and planning of resources necessary for the execution of major disputes and is particularly involved in directing the resolution of international claims.  He has been involved in some of the largest commissions undertaken by HKA working closely with instructing solicitors and external counsel.  He has an established client base of large international oil/gas operators and contractors, international civil engineering contractors and international building contractors.  He is skilled in the drafting of contract documentation, provision of engineering and construction contractual advice, preparation of claims for extensions of time and additional cost, arbitration proceedings and litigation support.

 

Charles Wilsoncroft, Partner – HKA

Charles has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry.  He is a Chartered Civil Engineer, a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Charles has gained broad experience working for a main contractor, a public-sector client organisation and now HKA.  During his career he has been involved in all manner of procurement, contract training, project management, contract and claims management including dispute resolution, expert witness provision and final account settlement and regularly advises clients in respect of such.  He has developed an ability to head-up teams formulating and appraising complex claims including in respect of liability, delay, disruption and other impacts, managing the overall strategy and delivery while also mastering the detailed aspects of claim.  Charles has handled numerous complex adjudications, representing both referring and responding parties.

 

Emyr Evans, Partner – HKA

Emyr is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and barrister (non-practising) with over 30 years of construction industry experience. He is an internationally experienced quantum expert witness and has acted on many high-value disputes up to US$1 billion. He has been instructed on more than 40 occasions.

Emyr is very experienced, competent, and also practical and commercial. He remains calm at all times and gets the job done.
He showed a great skill in familiarising himself with the peculiarities of a local market.

WWL Thought Leaders – Construction Experts 2022

Emyr is involved in the preparation, analysis and submission of expert witness reports and in the preparation and defence of contractual claims. He has given oral testimony on seven occasions in London, Paris, The Hague, Rotterdam, Toronto and Khartoum, and has experience of delivering concurrent evidence (‘hot-tubbing’) and evidence online.
